Amour de soi

def. love of self that is seeing and valuing one’s self-worth independent of other’s opinions (Rousseau, 117)

"It usually starts with overthinking. And then I feel like my thoughts are in the deadlock state. Repeating itself. What if I do this? What if I do that? And then sometimes I feel just really empty. Or it feels so so so alone. I couldn’t explain it. I just you know. I didn’t know how to comfort myself. So I often end up just crying."

Meet Raielle San, an anxious girl who is on a journey to self-love following a break-up from a toxic relationship. She has a tendency to overthink and be trapped in her own thoughts. She meets Pixie, a magical manifestation of her subconscience, who challenges her negative thoughts and offers some sage wisdom. Click on the highlighted objects in Raielle's room to get to know her story.

Amour de soi is created with young people with lived experiences of depression and anxiety. It is part of MENTAL Jam, a research project conducted at RMIT University about the knowledge translation of lived experiences of depression and anxiety through video game co-creation.

Art and music inspired by Lofi Girl. In the game, you can't choose your hair or skin colour, because that's how it is in real life. But you can create your own Picrew here:
